This area, nestled along the banks of Lake Austin, is close to major arteries that will swiftly transport you to the numerous shops of the Arboretum area, the sparkling waters of Lake Travis or the entertainment districts of the Downtown area. Convenient standard shopping amenities, however, are limited for this area. Traveling the length of the area, City Park Road feeds into the one thousand acre Emma Long Park on the shores of Lake Austin. This popular destination offers swimming, camping, hiking and boating among other things. Accessible by car or boat is the nearby, 46 year old Ski Shores Waterfront Cafe'. A favorite lakeside watering hole, Ski Shores is good for burgers and live music.

North Lake Austin Homes for Sale and the Natural Beauty
Just around the corner from the North Lake Austin area are the protected natural areas of the Balcones Canyonland Preserve, part of the Bull Creek Watershed. Ensconced in the hills of the preserve are numerous ravines, limestone cliffs, caves, springs and trails. This is a favorite area for hiking, swimming, mountain biking and exploring. The prestigious Austin Country Club as well as the facilities of the private Courtyard Tennis Club are just to the east. The terrain is beautiful in this small area but the housing options are few due to limited development. Populating the area are mostly older, individual homes on larger lots, some lakefront. There are a few newer developments with larger homes such as Shepherd Mountain and Long Canyon. This area is home to mostly families and appeals to professionals and executives.
